Junior High Campers Go to Church!
The Mt. Hermon Junior High Camp traveled by bus to
Kansas City, Kan. to serve and share in the meal they prepared for approximately 150 people at the Center of Hope (soup kitchen). They then traveled a few blocks to First Central Church of the Brethren to offer an afternoon of service.
In less than 2 hours, the campers moved, by shovel, a ton of sand for a children’s playground area; scraped the paint from and re-painted the parsonage garage; mopped and waxed the fellowship hall floor; cleaned the spots from the narthex carpet; weeded the playground area as well as other areas around the church.
This service was most appreciated by the congregation, and the campers evaluations indicated this was a highlight of camp and a request to be repeated next year! What evidence of who we are as a Church, seeking to live in the Image of Christ. The director of this camp was Cheryl Mishler, Sabetha, Kan.
